International Women's Day is a United Nations Observance and a national holiday in many couinties, but not in the USA. UN Women was created in 2011 from four separate women's agencies, and headed by an Undersecretary-General. This program celebrates the role of women and highlights issues and future possibilities. Join us!
Maja Marjanovic is an experienced international specialist in gender equity issues who current works at Santa Clara County Supvr. Cindy Chavez office. She worked for the United Nations and non-governmental organizations in Europe on social justice and women’s rights related to Bosnia and Herzegovina. Currently she is a development adviser to the Alin Foundation in Berkeley, which funds social justice programs with revenues from its breakthrough medical treatments. Maja received her Master of Arts in Law and Diplomacy from Tufts University’s Fletcher School of Law and Diplomacy.
Erin has worked as a Technology Executive in the Data Storage Industry for twenty years leading engineering and operations teams in the United States, Asia and Europe for Western Digital, Hitachi and IBM. Erin is a passionate advocate for STEM education for women and minorities and was a 2013 and 2014 Techwomen* Mentor for the US State Department.
