Ted Smith has been the pre-eminent pioneer in working for toxics reduction and pollution prevention, first locally, and now in the global electronics industry. Today, Smith is co-founder and coordinator for the International Campaign for Responsible Technology (ICRT) and is implementing a long-term strategy to promote sustainability within the global high-tech industry.
Silicon Valley United Nations Association has joined a Coalition of OWL (Older Women's League) and WILPF (Women's International League for Peace & Freedom). Coalition Meetings take place quarterly.

1. President Shirley Lin Kinoshita spoke on Nov. 15, 2012 to SEIU 521, retired public workers in San Jose on the status of women and girls, locally and world-wide. In 2011, Shirley attended the UN 55th Commission on the Status of Women in NYC as a WILPF delegate. WILPF is world's oldest and largest women's peace and justice organization.
